Taking Control of Your Health

There’s nothing more frightening than feeling like there’s something going on with your body that you don’t understand. It feels like you can’t get a handle on it. Add to that when you’ve been to five doctors who want to give you medications to make your symptoms go away but none of the tests are able to answer your questions. I’ve specialized in this type of medicine for most of my career. I learned quickly while in my surgical residency that Western medicine doesn’t always have the answers. Even with the best of science, sometimes we don’t know.
That’s why I was so excited when I learned about Chinese medicine. It provided me with an ancient system of understanding the body from a different perspective. It’s all about energy flow, and finding balance. When I see a person who has gone through tons of tests, and no answers or viable solutions, I have another way of looking at things, that will at least  help her get balanced, which allows for healing to begin.
When we don’t feel well, and don’t know what’s going on, we want to feel like we can gain control of the situation at all costs. We want to have a way to feel better, and most importantly, we want to have hope. In my many years of experience, I’ve found that the most important elements of healing come from within. When a situation gets complicated, or you don’t know what to do, here are some things that you have power to change.
